Checklist for the Postponed Ceremony

⎕ Check your eligibility

It’s always a good idea to check in with your program advisor regarding your eligibility to participate in the postponed in-person ceremony. If you have already graduated (Summer 2019 & Fall 2019 semesters) or will complete your degree requirements and graduate at the conclusion of the Spring or Summer 2020 semesters, you are eligible to participate.

You may also be eligible to walk in the postponed in-person ceremony if you will have enough credits at the end of the Spring 2020 term to finish your remaining credits in the Summer 2020 term.

    • BALS students must be within 12 credits of completion at the conclusion of the Spring 2020 term.
    • MPS and non-thesis MALS students must be within 6 credits at the conclusion of the Spring 2020 term.

Apply to graduate

The Spring 2020 Graduation Application has now closed.

If you missed the application deadline but will have completed all degree requirements by the conclusion of the Spring 2020 semester, email If you are finishing your degree requirements in the Summer 2020 semester, this step does not apply to you.

*Your application to graduate does NOT indicate your participation in the postponed in-person ceremony. However, if you do not apply for graduation, you will not receive your diploma.

Order your regalia

The deadline to order academic regalia through Jostens has been extended. If you have questions about your Jostens order, please call 1-800-854-7464.

Any SCS students who have ordered and not received their order should call customer service to see if a cancellation is possible. Any orders that have been delivered to a residence are not returnable.
